My practice is informed by two decades of counselling experience and  researching trauma and resilience. I worked for many years, in the not for profit sector, with some of society's most vulnerable individuals and groups. I now write and create art about the mixed race experience and colourism.

 

In counselling sessions, I focus on the relationship we have with ourselves.  And the relationship between us and our social environment which is where our resilience is created. 

 

This approach counteracts the limitations of traditional therapeutic approaches which sometimes fail to address the emotional wounds created by all forms of discrimination and social injustice.

I work with individuals, couples and groups. Supervision is also available, one off and regular, for counsellors, therapists and those working in the caring professions.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and the BAATN (Black, Asian & African Therapist Network).
